Yes, many of the battery systems we install are designed to be expanded over time.
Expandable systems we install:
- GivEnergy — one of the most modular systems available. You can add additional battery modules to increase your storage capacity as your needs grow.
- Tesla Powerwall — you can stack multiple Powerwall units (up to 10) for increased capacity and power output
- Other brands — several other systems we install also support expansion
When adding more capacity makes sense:
- You add solar panels — more generation means more surplus to store
- You get an EV — an electric car increases your electricity consumption and you benefit from storing more off-peak energy
- You add a heat pump — more stored energy helps offset the heat pump’s electricity demand
- Tariff changes — as the gap between peak and off-peak tariffs widens, a larger battery captures more savings
How we plan for this:
When we design your initial system, we consider your likely future needs and ensure the inverter and wiring can accommodate additional batteries later. This avoids unnecessary costs or rework when you decide to expand.
