The Smarter Way to Heat

Stop Burning Money
on Gas.
Start Heating Smarter.

Gas prices are volatile and only heading in one direction. An air source heat pump extracts free, renewable heat from the outside air—even when it's cold.

The Gas Boiler Trap

  • Rising Gas Prices: Gas bills have more than doubled in recent years, and fossil fuel prices remain unpredictable and volatile.
  • Carbon Emissions: Gas boilers are one of the largest sources of household carbon emissions, contributing directly to climate change.
  • Ageing Boilers: Old boilers lose efficiency over time, wasting more gas to produce less heat—and costly breakdowns become inevitable.

The Heat Pump Advantage

  • Lower Running Costs: Heat pumps can deliver 3-4kW of heat for every 1kW of electricity used. Running costs can be competitive or lower in the right property, especially when replacing an older or more expensive heating system.
  • Zero Direct Emissions: No gas, no combustion, no carbon. A heat pump slashes your home's carbon footprint and future-proofs it against regulations.
  • Built to Last: Modern air source heat pumps have a lifespan of 20+ years with minimal maintenance—far outlasting the average gas boiler.
How It Works

Air Source Heat Pumps: Simple, Proven Technology

An air source heat pump (ASHP) works like a fridge in reverse. It extracts heat from the outside air—even at temperatures as low as −15°C—and uses it to heat your home and hot water. It's the same proven technology used in millions of homes across Scandinavia.

For every 1kW of electricity it uses, a modern heat pump produces 3–4kW of heat. That's an efficiency of 300–400%, compared to a gas boiler's maximum of around 92%. When paired with solar panels, much of that electricity can be free.

Works in Scottish Winters

Modern ASHPs operate efficiently down to −15°C. Scotland's average winter temperature is well within range for reliable, consistent heating.

Heating & Hot Water

A heat pump can replace your boiler as the main source of space heating and hot water, typically using a hot-water cylinder.

Solar Integration

Pair your heat pump with solar panels and a battery to power your heating with free, clean energy you generate yourself.

Expert Guidance

Is Your Home
Ready For a Heat Pump?

A successful heat pump installation starts with a proper assessment. We survey your home thoroughly to ensure the system will deliver comfort and savings from day one.

Your Home's Insulation

Insulation is the single biggest factor in heat pump performance. We conduct a full heat loss survey to correctly size your system—never oversizing or undersizing, which wastes money either way.

Radiator & Pipework Assessment

Heat pumps run at lower flow temperatures than boilers, so your radiators may need to be larger. We assess every room and advise on any upgrades needed to ensure even, comfortable warmth throughout your home.

Electrical Supply Check

A heat pump needs a dedicated electrical supply. We check your main fuse and consumer unit to ensure they can handle the load safely and advise on any upgrades required before installation day.

An Engineer's Insight:
Size Matters

The most common mistake in the heat pump industry is incorrect sizing. An oversized system short-cycles, wastes energy, and wears out faster. An undersized one simply won't keep you warm.

We conduct a full room-by-room heat loss calculation—not a quick estimate—to ensure your heat pump is perfectly matched to your home.

Our Simple Process

Your Hassle-Free
Installation in 4 Steps

From the initial survey to switching on your new heating system, we handle the technical work and help you prepare the supporting paperwork for funding.

1. Home Survey & Heat Loss Calculation

We visit your home to assess insulation, radiators, pipework, and electrical supply. A detailed room-by-room heat loss calculation ensures we recommend the perfectly sized system for your property.

2. System Design & Funding Paperwork

We design your bespoke system, prepare your quote and supporting documents, and guide you through Home Energy Scotland funding requirements. The application itself must be submitted by the homeowner after Home Energy Scotland issues the form.

3. Professional Installation

Our MCS-certified engineers install your heat pump, connect it to your heating system, and commission it. Most installations are completed in 2–3 days with minimal disruption to your home.

4. Handover & Ongoing Support

We walk you through your new system, set up the controls, and ensure you're completely comfortable. We're always just a phone call away if you have any questions down the line.

Funding & Certification

Scottish Funding
for Heat Pumps

Eligible Scottish homeowners may be able to combine grant funding with an interest-free loan through Home Energy Scotland. We guide you through the requirements and help you prepare the paperwork. Funding is first-come, first-served and subject to availability.

Home Energy Scotland Grant and Loan

Scottish homeowners do not use the Boiler Upgrade Scheme. Eligible homeowners may be able to access up to £7,500 in grant funding for a heat pump through Home Energy Scotland, plus an optional interest-free loan of up to £7,500. Eligible rural and island homes can receive up to £9,000 in grant support. Funding is for whole-house systems that provide heating and hot water, and hybrid heat pumps are not eligible. Funding is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and is subject to availability.

Funding Rules That Matter

Home Energy Scotland funding requires a qualifying report or EPC, MCS-certified products and installer, and no outstanding loft or cavity-wall recommendations on the post-install EPC. Replacement heat pumps are not eligible for grant funding, though an interest-free loan may still be available. Successful loan applications also carry a 1.5% administrative fee capped at £150. We help you prepare the paperwork, but the homeowner must submit the application.
