Yes. A properly designed and installed air source heat pump provides all the space heating and hot water your home needs. It fully replaces a gas boiler.
How it works:
- Space heating — the heat pump heats water that circulates through your radiators or underfloor heating, just like a boiler
- Hot water — a dedicated hot water cylinder (usually 200–300 litres) stores hot water for taps and showers. This replaces a combi boiler’s on-demand approach with stored hot water that is ready when you need it
- Controls — modern heat pumps have smart controls that learn your heating patterns and optimise efficiency
What customers tell us:
- The warmth is more consistent and even compared to a boiler that cycles on and off
- Rooms stay at a more stable temperature throughout the day
- Hot water is plentiful, especially with a properly sized cylinder
Important considerations:
- Your home’s insulation matters. A well-insulated home gets the best results.
- Some radiators may need upgrading to work efficiently at lower flow temperatures
- A heat-loss assessment is essential to size the system correctly
We design every system individually for each home to ensure it delivers the comfort and performance you expect.
