Scotland has its own funding route for heat pumps, separate from the Boiler Upgrade Scheme that applies in England and Wales.
Home Energy Scotland Grant and Loan Scheme:
- Grant — up to £7,500 towards the cost of a heat pump installation (up to £9,000 for eligible rural and island homes)
- Interest-free loan — up to £7,500 to cover remaining costs, with a 1.5% admin fee capped at £150
- Eligibility — the system must provide whole-house heating and hot water. Hybrid heat pumps are not eligible. Replacement heat pumps are not eligible for the grant.
- Application — the homeowner must submit the application personally after receiving the form from Home Energy Scotland. We prepare all the quotes, technical specifications, and supporting documents you need.
Important details:
- Funding is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and is subject to availability
- Your installer must be MCS certified (we are)
- A home energy assessment may be required as part of the process
- 0% VAT applies to heat pump installations, further reducing the cost
We guide you through every step and make the process as straightforward as possible.
