A typical domestic heat pump installation takes 2–3 days. More complex installations, such as those requiring significant pipework changes or multiple radiator upgrades, may take a little longer.
What happens during installation:
- Day 1 — the outdoor unit is positioned and mounted on its base. Pipework is run from the outdoor unit to inside the property. The hot water cylinder is installed.
- Day 2 — the heat pump is connected to your heating system. Any radiator upgrades are carried out. Electrical connections are completed.
- Day 3 — the system is filled, tested, and commissioned. We set up the controls, walk you through the system, and make sure everything is working properly.
What affects the timeline:
- Radiator upgrades — if several radiators need replacing, this adds time
- Pipework complexity — the distance between the outdoor unit and your heating system
- Electrical supply — if your consumer unit needs upgrading to accommodate the heat pump
All work is carried out by our own qualified engineers. We keep disruption to a minimum and always leave your home clean and tidy.
