A standard residential solar panel installation is typically completed in 1 to 2 days. Larger or more complex installations may take a little longer.
What happens on installation day:
- Scaffolding — erected the day before or first thing in the morning for safe roof access
- Mounting rails — roof brackets and rails are fitted to your roof tiles
- Panel installation — panels are mounted onto the rails and wired together
- Inverter and electrics — the inverter is installed (usually in the loft or garage), connected to your consumer unit, and the system is commissioned
- Testing and handover — we test everything, walk you through the monitoring app, and make sure you are happy
What affects the timeline:
- System size — a larger array takes a little longer
- Battery addition — if you are having a battery installed at the same time, add a few hours
- Roof complexity — multi-aspect roofs or unusual tile types may require extra time
- Scaffolding — typically removed within a few days of installation
All work is carried out by our own in-house electricians. We do not use subcontractors.
