What maintenance is needed?

Renewable energy systems are generally very low maintenance, but a little care goes a long way in keeping performance at its best.

Solar panels:

Rainfall handles most of the cleaning in Scotland. An occasional hose-down to clear bird droppings or pollen is all that is usually needed. We recommend a professional inspection every few years to check connections, inverter health, and overall system performance.

Battery storage:

Many modern batteries run self-diagnostic checks automatically. There are usually no regular tasks for you to do, but we recommend a periodic health check to confirm firmware, software access, and system performance are where they should be.

EV chargers:

Smart chargers are largely maintenance-free. Keep the connector clean and dry when not in use. The charger's app will flag many common issues.

Heat pumps:

Heat pumps benefit from an annual service, similar to a boiler service. This keeps the system running efficiently, supports the warranty position where servicing is required, and catches any minor issues early. We offer servicing for systems we install.
